2. Collection and Storage of Personal Data

This website is a purely static offering without server-side processing of user requests by me. When you access this website, connection data is automatically recorded in server log files by the server I operate. This typically includes:

  • IP address of the requesting device (possibly anonymized)
  • Date and time of access
  • Name and URL of the requested file
  • Browser and operating system used
  • Referrer URL (previously visited page)

This data is used exclusively for the purpose of ensuring trouble-free operation of the website and for improving the offer. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest).

3. Hosting – Hetzner Online GmbH

This website runs on a server (VPS) that I operate and administer myself, rented from Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. Hetzner only provides the server infrastructure and has no access to the content or usage data I process. Processing takes place exclusively within the EU; no data is transmitted to the USA. 4. Analytics – Umami (self-hosted)

This website uses Umami for privacy-friendly analytics. Umami is open-source analytics software that I run myself on my own server infrastructure — no data is transmitted to an external analytics provider. Umami does not set cookies and does not create cross-device user profiles. To count unique visitors, a daily, salted hash is computed from IP address, user agent, and website; the IP address itself is not stored. Only aggregated, non-personal metrics are collected (e.g., page views, clicked elements such as the language switcher or external links, browser used, operating system, screen size, country of origin).

No data is transmitted to the USA or to third parties; processing takes place exclusively on my own infrastructure, hosted within the EU. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in anonymized usage statistics to improve the service).
